The topic of cloth diapering has been discussed and debated for years with the outcome being: each family ultimately has to decide what’s best for them. When it comes time for us to have a little one, I’m honestly not sure what we’ll choose but I know I want to be educated about the options!
If you are contemplating cloth diapering, here are a few benefits to consider. One: they do an amazing job of keeping baby dry while avoiding diaper rash. Two: it can save thousands of dollars in the long run although a the initial investment will most likely be $200 – $300 for most of the cloth diapering systems out there. Three: it’s good for the environment! They are 100% reusable and if you plan to use them for more than one baby that’s even greater savings for both the environment and your pocketbook. Four: surprisingly easy to use (although a bit intimidating at first). Five: they are SUPER cute… not only are multiple colors available, but depending on the brand you choose – multiple patterns as well!
Okay, so now you’ve decided to go the cloth route but there are so many different brands and systems out there, how do you choose? Bum Genius seems to be an all around favorite, getting high reviews for ease of use and functionality plus aesthetics (bumGenius 4.0 pictured above, available in 8 colors).
Fuzzi Buns is another front-runner in the industry, available in a multitude of colors as pictured above. They also do a great job on their website of speaking to many of the benefits of cloth diapering and answering potential questions. Read more about it here!
