black & white nursery

Right now I am super excited about the trend of using unexpected colors or patterns in a nursery (likeĀ black and white) so here are a few of my fab favorites from the website of Peekaboo Design Group, a Dallas-Ft. Worth based company who’s concept of the surprise nursery is one-of-a-kind. Check out more details here!

Not only are black and white patterns very soothing for baby (as well as beneficial in development) but it can turn into a very interesting and beautiful room. The other great thing is by basing a design concept around black and white, adding less-traditional baby colors (such as the sage green and warm golden in the nursery pictured above) you get a fabulous room that will grow with your baby from infant to toddler and beyond much more easily.

Another favorite black and white baby room pictured on the Peekaboo website uses pops of hot pink mixing stripes, polkadots, solids, and even toile making for a fabulous finished product!

Lastly, using unexpected textures (in addition to patterns) will make a nursery concept feel fresh and original. I love the dupioni silk in olive used in the room to the left paired with navy blue. This is sure to be a soothing middle of the night oasis for parents and baby!
